Here are today’s biggest Callaway equipment notes from the U.S. Open

Odyssey Cruises To Putter Count Win

The #1 Putter in Golf is the #1 Putter at Pebble Beach, as Odyssey is by far the most played putter brand this week at the U.S. Open. There are 60 Odyssey Putters in the field, which is 14 more than the nearest competitor. And our innovative new Stroke Lab Shaft is helping Odyssey lead the way, including for players like Xander Schauffele and Francesco Molinari who are near the top of the leaderboard. The multi-material Stroke Lab shaft is designed to help improve the tempo and consistency of a player’s putting stroke.

It’s another big major putter count win for Odyssey, and in fact Odyssey has won the count at all 7 majors played this year across the PGA, LPGA, and Champions Tours. And the #1 Putter in Golf continues to be #1 in major worldwide usage and worldwide wins by far in 2019.

72 Mack Daddy 4 Wedges In Play At Pebble

Callaway is going strong as the #2 wedge brand on the PGA Tour. And this week, there are 72 Mack Daddy 4 Wedges in play for the tough U.S. Open conditions at Pebble. Mack Daddy 4 is crafted by Callaway Chief Designer Roger Cleveland and features our groove-in-groove technology to help promote more spin and control around the greens.

ICYMI: Xander Schauffele Switches Into Stroke Lab Tuttle Putter

In case you missed it, Xander Schauffele is using a new Odyssey Stroke Lab Tuttle Putter this week at the U.S. Open (you can find images of the putter attached and in the link here). He switched from his Stroke Lab R-Ball gamer and played his first tournament round with the Stroke Lab Tuttle on Thursday at Pebble Beach, where he shot a 5-under 66 to move toward the top of the leaderboard. He also is currently tied for the lead in putts per round, and leads the field in Strokes Gained – Putting.

Xander has been using a Stroke Lab shaft in his putter since the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play in March, and he likes how the innovative multi-material shaft has helped to improve the tempo and consistency in his stroke. He tested the Tuttle head extensively this week and he likes how the three lines are designed all the way from the front to the back of the putterhead to help frame the ball for the proper setup and better alignment. His new putter is 34 3/8” long with a Superstroke Traxion grip.

One-Of-A-Kind Odyssey Toulon “Pitch In At Pebble” Putter

In commemoration of the U.S. Open, we’ve partnered with club builder Wayne Byrne and the Odyssey Tour Team on a one-of-a-kind Odyssey Toulon Memphis Stroke Lab Putter (photo attached). The “Pitch in at Pebble” Putter features a laser engraved image of Callaway staffer Tom Watson’s chip in at the 1982 U.S. Open, as well as the years that Pebble has hosted our National Championship. The blind auction for this one-of-a-kind putter is open now through June 21 (bids can be submitted here).
