South Korean wins third PGA Tour title using the new Epic Speed Driver featuring Speed Frame Technology
(Chessington, UK – January 25, 2021) Callaway staffer Si Woo Kim used the power and accuracy of the just-launched Epic Speed Driver to claim his third PGA Tour title at The American Express tournament in the Californian desert.
The 25-year-old South Korean’s steely 23-under-par victory on PGA West’s Stadium Course at La Quinta moved him into the world’s Top 50 and ended a fantastic week for the Callaway and Odyssey brands.
New Epic Speed Drivers use Callaway’s new A.I.-designed Jailbreak Speed Frame that not only stiffens the body in the vertical direction, but by applying Artificial Intelligence, enhances horizontal and torsional stability too, promoting an increase in ball speeds across the face.
Si Woo Kim’s victory (with all four rounds in the 60s) came after he birdied two of the last three holes for a final round 64. His winning bag also included Callaway MAVRIK Fairway Woods and Mack Daddy 5 JAWS Wedges. He also used a Chrome Soft X Golf Ball, a modern Tour ball designed to deliver maximum distance and control for the elite player.
On the European Tour, at the season-opening Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, four Callaway Staffers – Marc Warren, Chris Paisley, Matt Wallace and Fabrizio Zanotti – finished in the Top 10.
Callaway was also the #1 Driver (49 drivers in play, including 35 new Epic Drivers), #1 Fairway Wood (67 FW in play, including 13 new Epic), #1 Hybrid (18 in play) and #1 Iron brand (44 sets in play) in Abu Dhabi last week, while Odyssey dominated the Putter stats, with 58% of the players relying on the brand (77 putters in play).
