(Chessington, UK – June 11, 2023) Callaway Staffer Dale Whitnell emphatically won his maiden DP World Tour title at the 2023 Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed – and it was another incredible win for Callaway’s Paradym Driver.
Over on the Challenge Tour, fellow Englishman and Callaway Staffer, Sam Hutsby, also put Paradym in play, and won a dramatic Andalucia Challenge de Cadiz – on the 3rd hole of a six-way play-off!
Dale’s win is the 11th #TeamCallaway victory on the 2023 DP World Tour this season, and the Travis Mathew ambassador comfortably secured his title by three shots, finishing on -21, after leading throughout the final day’s play.
His weekend rounds were made slightly less nerve-wracking thanks to shooting a phenomenal new course record 61 on Friday, guiding him six strokes clear of the chasing pack at Ullna Golf & Country Club, Stockholm, Sweden, going into Saturday.
Speaking immediately after victory, the emotional 34-year-old, said: “It has been a long time coming, I’m ecstatic. It means everything to me, and it is what I get up every day for. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come. I’ve dreamt of this for a long time.”
Sam, a Callaway Apparel ambassador, said of his Spanish win: “When it went to a play-off, I was quietly confident because I’ve won about 15 play-offs in my career. I’ve always been very confident in those situations, and I actually won a six-man play-off at the Second Stage of Qualifying School last year.
“I’ve got some amazing memories in the game, but this is right up there.”
