(Chessington, UK – November 19, 2023) Callaway’s Nicolai Højgaard secured the biggest win of his professional career with an epic final day display at the season-finale DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.
Leading in rounds one and two, and starting three back on the final day, the 22-year-old Staff Professional lit up the back nine at Jumeirah Golf Estates’ Earth Course to claim his maiden Rolex Series win, and his third DP World Tour title.
His final round of 64, clinching a two-shot -21 victory, featured an incredible nine birdies – including five in row from the 13th hole. The win propels Nicolai into the World’s Top 50 for the first time, and secures him runners-up spot in the 2023 Race to Dubai standings.
After picking up a cool €2,764,461 winner’s cheque, Nicolai said: “It means a lot, it’s the sweetest one. So much hard work has been put in over the past couple of years – it feels amazing, this is for family and everything they put in over the years. So much hard work going into this, for it to happen like this is unbelievable.”
Nicolai’s winning bag included a Paradym Triple Diamond 10.5° Driver – the company’s most successful Driver introduction on Tour ever, a prototype Callaway Fairway Wood, Callaway Apex MB ’21 Irons, and a trio of Callaway Wedges. His incredible putting performance came courtesy of an Odyssey O-Works Jailbird Mini Putter, featuring Stroke Lab shaft technology.
Nicolai has also used a Callaway Chrome Soft X Triple Track Golf Ball for the entire 2023 DP World Tour season – this helped him finish in the Top 10 seven times, performances that led to his maiden appearance in The Ryder Cup in Italy.
