– Spanish Staffer storms to victory in the Scottish Championship with a final day birdie blitz –

(Chessington, UK – October 19, 2020) Callaway staffer Adrian Otaegui’s 23-under-par victory at the Scottish Championship further underlines Callaway’s position as the dominant brand on the European Tour.

Adrian, also a TravisMathew apparel ambassador, claimed his third European Tour title using a full bag of Callaway and Odyssey equipment, carding a phenomenal last day 63, the lowest final round score by a European Tour winner since January, to win by four strokes.

His victory sealed a great week for Callaway, seeing its Staff Professionals also occupy 2nd (Matt Wallace), 4th (Chris Paisley) and 7th (Marcus Armitage) positions.

Adrian’s was crowned champion after a virtuoso Sunday display with his Odyssey Stroke Lab Black #10 Putter, making 10 birdies in the final round, and eight of them in an 11-hole stretch!  He also came within inches of a hole-in-one at the Par 3, 11th, and finished the tournament leading the Strokes Gained, Approach and Strokes Gained Tee to Green stats.

Moving himself into 25th in the Race to Dubai standings and picking up the €161,925 winner’s cheque, Adrian, said: “This win feels really, really good. I’m very happy with the way I played the whole week. I made a solid start to the first round (62) and then I was just very consistent.

“I felt great in the final round and holed some very important putts on the back nine. I had been playing well running up to this event and could feel that a win might be coming.”

Neil Howie, President and Managing Director of Callaway Golf EMEA, added: “It was fantastic to see a Callaway shootout between Adrian and Matt, and watch them both battling it out down the stretch using Callaway and Odyssey equipment. Huge congratulations to Adrian. To shoot 62 in the first round and follow this with 63 on the final day is quite incredible golf.”

Callaway was the #1 driver brand, #1 fairway wood brand, and Odyssey was the #1 putter brand with nearly twice as many putters in play as the nearest competitor brand, at the Fairmont St Andrews tournament.
